There is no better place for the aspiring artist than Paris, situated at the heart of Western Europe, a cultural crossroads reflecting the cosmopolitan mix that makes this city so vibrant, so open and so inspiring to creative genius. One has to look no further than the Jazz Clubs listings in a local newspaper to feel the breadth of the musical and cultural diversity the city has to offer. It's no wonder that so many of the Jazz greats have made Paris their home.

And there is no better place than the American School of Modern Music where the pedagogic rigor of a full formal Jazz program is coupled with the "hands-on" reality of playing and composing for the city's club and concert scene.
 

The American School of Modern Music is an academic institution with an international dimension. Many of our students continue their musical studies in the United States.
With a Bachelor of Music degree, the US government allows a non-US citizen to remain in the United States for two year's professional experience after graduation (practical training). The stay can be extended when economic activity is created.

For several years the American School has helped students choose an American University and provided aid and assistance with their admission and registration requirements. Admission to an American university is a process than can take anywhere from 5 to 8 months. The whole procedure can involve: scholarship and financial aid requests, application dossiers, translation and transfer of grade reports and academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, English language tests or equivalencies, and immigration formalities.
