The GUITARSESSIONS<\/strong><\/em> workshop consists of around twenty hours of classes dedicated to guitar and jazz improvisation, as well as the preparation of a concert to conclude the workshop. This year’s edition will give students the opportunity to work with a rhythm section (bass\/drums).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

From June 29<\/b> to July 3, 2026<\/strong>, the new edition of the GUITARSESSIONS<\/strong><\/em> workshop by the American School of Modern Music will take place.<\/p>\n

The goal of the GUITARSESSIONS<\/strong><\/em> is to offer participants a series of high-quality classes at an affordable price, in a focused yet relaxed environment.<\/p>\n

The workshop will be led by professors from the American School of Modern Music<\/a>. With international backgrounds and extensive musical experience, they bring valuable knowledge, effective working methods, and proven teaching approaches to share with participants. Experienced educators and accomplished musicians, they have been developing specialized educational material for jazz guitarists for years.<\/p>\n

Skill Levels:<\/strong> The workshop is offered at two distinct levels. The first level, or Group 1, is suitable for guitarists with a solid understanding of jazz, music theory (intervals, chord and scale construction), solf\u00e8ge (pitch and rhythm recognition and notation), and practical application on the instrument (ability to accompany a jazz standard).<\/p>

The second level, or Group 2, is open to less experienced guitarists, including those who may not read music or are less confident with harmony. This level is also open to guitarists from other musical backgrounds (rock, blues, folk, metal, etc.) who wish to explore more advanced harmonic vocabulary and improvisation.<\/p>

Reading music is not required to attend this workshop. However, regular practice and prior experience playing in a group are strongly recommended. The workshop is not intended for complete beginners.<\/p>

We encourage participants to share any recordings (mp3, links, website, etc.) that would help us assess their current level.<\/p>

Concert:<\/strong> A student concert will take place at the end of the workshop on Friday.<\/p>

Accommodation:<\/strong> Accommodation is not included. However, many lodging options are available near the venue.<\/p>

Equipment:<\/strong> All amplification equipment will be available on-site. In addition to their guitar, participants are asked to bring staff paper, a pencil and eraser, and a jack cable. Teaching materials will be provided throughout the week.<\/p>

Language:<\/strong> The workshop will be conducted in French. However, instructors can assist international students in English when needed.<\/p>

Schedule:<\/strong> Classes will run from Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 5 PM each day.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
