{"id":17040,"date":"2016-03-10T17:42:25","date_gmt":"2016-03-10T16:42:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asmm.fr\/our_team\/michele-hendricks\/"},"modified":"2025-01-24T11:46:16","modified_gmt":"2025-01-24T10:46:16","slug":"michele-hendricks","status":"publish","type":"team","link":"https:\/\/www.asmm.fr\/en\/our_team\/michele-hendricks\/","title":{"rendered":"Michele Hendricks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">(<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Michele Hendricks<\/strong>, <strong>American singer<\/strong>, <strong>songwriter<\/strong>, and daughter of <strong>Jon Hendricks<\/strong>, the renowned <strong>singer<\/strong>, <strong>lyricist<\/strong>, and founder of the famous vocal trio <strong>\u201cLambert, Hendricks &amp; Ross\u201d<\/strong>, first stepped on stage at the age of <strong>eight<\/strong> alongside her father. By <strong>fifteen<\/strong>, she was regularly touring <strong>Europe<\/strong> with him while completing her <strong>dance and theater studies<\/strong> in <strong>London<\/strong>. Michele pursued <strong>music studies<\/strong> in <strong>San Francisco<\/strong> before returning to <strong>New York<\/strong> for two years, working with <strong>Buddy Rich<\/strong> and <strong>Stan Getz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She later returned to <strong>San Francisco<\/strong> to perform in <strong>Jon Hendricks\u2019 show \u201cEvolution of the Blues\u201d<\/strong>, which ran for <strong>six years<\/strong>. Michele formed her <strong>own group<\/strong> on the <strong>West Coast<\/strong> and later joined her father\u2019s group <strong>\u201cJon Hendricks &amp; Co\u201d<\/strong>, contributing <strong>vocal arrangements<\/strong> to the <strong>Grammy-nominated album \u201cLove\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michele eventually left the group to launch her <strong>solo career<\/strong>, performing in the <strong>United States<\/strong>, <strong>Europe<\/strong>, and <strong>Japan<\/strong>. From <strong>2016 to 2020<\/strong>, she taught at the <strong>American School of Modern Music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has performed at <strong>prestigious festivals<\/strong> such as <strong>New York JVC, Monterey, Newport, Northsea (The Hague), Umbria Jazz, Marciac<\/strong>, and in <strong>Paris<\/strong> with <strong>Herbie Hancock<\/strong> for his project <strong>\u201cGershwin\u2019s World\u201d<\/strong>. Michele has also appeared on numerous <strong>television shows<\/strong> in the <strong>U.S.<\/strong> and <strong>Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michele Hendricks has worked with some of the greatest <strong>jazz legends<\/strong>, including <strong>Count Basie, Benny Carter, Al Jarreau, Bobby McFerrin, Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter<\/strong>, and many more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michele Hendricks, American singer and daughter of Jon Hendricks, began performing at the age of eight.
