Nicolas Godefroy

Award-winning prolific Composer and Orchestrator for his work in commercials, films, TV series, and video games, Nicolas J.C. Godefroy initially studied classical music and composition at the Regional Conservatory of Caen in France. He later graduated with the highest honors, “Summa Cum Laude,” from Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA), specializing in music composition for visual media, orchestration, and orchestral conducting.

In Los Angeles, he contributed to a wide range of studio productions, both small and large, including projects like The Tale of Desperaux (Universal Studios), The Cold Light of Day (Summit Entertainment featuring Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver, Henry Cavill), The Raven (starring John Cusack), Vanishing on 7th Street (with Hayden Christensen), as well as television series such as Battlestar Galactica, Eureka, Human Target, Caprica, Trauma…

A multi-instrumentalist, guitarist, singer, and leader of various progressive rock bands, Nico’s empathy and curiosity for various music styles and genres give him an edge in creating new colorful and cinematic sounds and ideas.

Nico has composed and produced music for hundreds of commercials, both for the local Indonesian market and internationally, working with brands such as Google, McDonald’s, Nestlé, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Pizza Hut, Samsung, Sunsilk, to name a few. He has also composed and produced over 100 songs for Pizza Hut Indonesia for their in-restaurant music playlist.

His recent work includes composing and orchestrating music for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Asian Games, additional music composition for the Malaysian film Fly by Night directed by Zahir Omar, and orchestration for the renowned Singaporean jazz maestro Jeremy Monteiro.
